I am playing back a 1920x1080 30fps ProRes422 video and it is not playing back smoothly, very jumpy. I check the activity monitor and notice that the IzzyMoviePlayer 64 is not responding. Any thoughts why this might be or it is causing this problem?

      MacPro 2 x 2.8GHz Quad Intel Xeon
      6 GB RAM
SSD mounted for content via SATA 3G connection
      10.9.3 OS X
      Thanks!

        "IzzyMoviePlayer 64 is not responding"

This is normal, it will be working its just the way Apple see's the background process.
Have you tried the latest beta?

It's worth trying that and seeing if it helps.
Let us know how you get on.

Is there a difference when you play it back from the internal hard drive?

            Thanks for the help.

I will download the beta and see if that helps. I am mainly having problems playing back 1920x1080 clips (1 or 2 at a time). When I change from scene to scene over a fade time either 1 second or 10 seconds, there is a stutter in the video clip and then it snaps to the next clip. This is also happening if I use a 1280x720 clip. Not sure how I can fix this?
I just added a SSD to this machine and have the content on it. Should I put Izzy on it as well?
When I play the clip back right from the internal HD they playback smoothly.

Yes 100% An SSD's will help massively.

When you are mixing you are mixing 2 HD videos together and that's a lot of pixels!
