Creating Plugins for Isadora
I have a question about developing plugins for isadora using the isadorasdk.
Is it possible anymore? I have seen several posts about developing plugins on both mac os and windows but the are all on the old forumn and, I believe, for Isadora 1. Is there an sdk anymore? If so is there any documentation on how to work with it?
I'm looking to create a plugin that allows you to send raw udp packets out of isadora.
The currently published SDK can be used with Visual studio 10. [ this is likely useful ]
If you are on Windows, you also require the QuickTime SDK. (you may need to add a few OpenGL headers).
This SDK won't allow vid-GPU programming, and probably doesn't support UTF-8.
you can download it here: https://troikatronix.com/get-i...
That said an updated SDK is in the works that will offer vid-GPU, UTF-8 etc..I do not have a timeline for this currently.
From my understanding it should be very easy to move a project built in the VS10 sdk, to the new one once released.
Thank you for this. Do you know if things work in xcode 8?
I don't know.. I have only been doing pc dev.
@DusX And I guess you use VS10. If it's not the case, do you have a sample project for the current VS to share? It's probably not a good idea to publicly share this if there is an official version on the go but... I'm probably not the only one curious about experimenting with Isadora plugins dev. :D
Nothing that Can be shared yet.. but this is high on my priority list.
I feel its important to get developers extending Isadora. Unfortunately, the latest Apple Sierra update caused many unexpected issues.
So the SDK has slipped behind a bit.
Do you use github? We have discussed releasing via github, does this make the most sense for you?
Yes a release on GitHub would be fantastic.
I know you guys are hard at work. :D
I also believe a Git repo (on Github in this case) would be fantastic. If Troikatronix is willing to do this I think it will be easier to. And who knows, maybe someone will try crazy stuff like including creative frameworks inside of this sample (OF, Cinder or other).
Ok ok, I'll just be patient haha. :)

Is there any further timeline for the updated SDK mentioned here?
I'm trying to develop a plugin for Isadora and so far i can't install the plugin neither on mac or on pc. On mac, since OS/Xcode updated the SDK seems to be incompatible. And on PC i can't find the QuickTime SDK anymore, since apple "abandoned" QuickTime for windows.
Does someone know where should I get the QuickTime SDK or how to install the SDK on Mac?
All the best,
The Quicktime sdk is available (listed under MORE in the developer downloads).
This is the direct link (you will need to be signed in as a developer): http://adcdownload.apple.com/Q...
I don't have anymore information yet. I know it is being worked on.
