Lanbox rgb out + artnet
-
Hi,
Because I missed the lanbox rgb actor I wrote something else to use.
I recently updated it with a javascript actor: Pixel map.izz (explanation is inside the file.)

the upcoming 2.6 has a video to artnet actor (can't remember the name right now)
It's great. I've been test it heavily. Select either hozontal or vertical strips from a video input... repeat, spaced, and with offsets.
Direct out to artnet. Awesome.
I love using video as the driver.

Hi Ryan,
That’s fantastic I am really looking forward to that. How many individual channels have you been able to achieve with the new video to RGB feature?
Best wishes

One universe of Artnet is 512 channels. Since 512 can't be devided with /3 that means you will have 510 channels / 3 = 170 RGB data sets = 170 RGB Pixels (in theory)
Would love to know the answer as well Ryan :)

I currently have 4 led strands. 50 rgb pixels each. I have connected them in most possible configurations that my dmxking ledmx4 pro will support.
It has 4x outputs of 1 universe each. So I've tried 50 leds for each universe, 100 x 2 universe's and maxed out a single universe (150 leds, since i didnt want to cut the strands).
Setting the artnet port numbers correctly was the only setup element that took some getting used to. Additionally much of the config is done in the nodes own config software.
I have also tested with a Moss pixlart 416 (4 universe) controller and an eDMX 1. Including using all products at once.
Everything has been working great (I have used a old hub I had kicking around to get this setup). No direct IP addresses needed to be entered.
I have ordered more of the same lights and plan to Max out the ledmx4-pro asap (4x 170 led strands).
I will write up a tutorial asap that walks thru my setup.

Hi Ryan,
A tutorial will help iron things out, so will look forward to that (along with the official 2.6 release of course).

Hello,
Also waiting for the release of the Isadora actor, I am just writing a tutorial on how to make Pixel Mapping in TouchDesigner.
Here is the tutorial (French and English)
Here is the patch
It works with the non-commercial version and you just have to replace "MovieFileIn" with "SyphonSpoutIn" and send images from Isadora.

The features Ryan spoke about are in the v2.6 beta that you have access to. The actor you're looking for is Matrix Color Send. It gives you what the old LanBox to RGB actor gave you, and arguably more. But you can also post comments/desires in the private beta thread.
Best Wishes,

beta pixel Mapping actor
Hi Jaques,
The video to RGB mapping actor was not announced by the team, but was included in the 245b20 beta gold forum group release about a week ago.
Best Wishes,
