And it seems to have arrived. Not too much support outside of vvvv but this will probably spread fast.

This project has been available for a while now (via the vvvv forum previously), from what I could tell it offered 'syphon' like support of DorectX apps but not opengl as of yet..
Definitely one to watch. -
