[ANSWERED] Can 3D objects drop shadows?
-
Hi, all!
I'm try to create animated map with separate regions. Can 3D objets in Isadora drop shadows to each other?
I can't find it in manual.
Thanks.

Hi,
Unfortunately, there are no options for shadows generated from 3D objects in Isadora.
I would love it if someone could tell me I am wrong.Best Wishes

I wish I could, but I can't. There might be a way to fake it, but it would require some pretty brutal math to calculate the relationship of the light to the object.
I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

@mark Thank you for quick answer. I will make precomposed animation.

Perhaps you can duplicate the 3D shape and then create a shadow mask from it. Then rescale and place it so that it seems to be a shadow. . .Would not deal with shadows falling on the face of the 3D object. . . .Would not easily work if you want to change the position of the light, but you could fake a shadow this way fairly straight forwardly from a single direction.
