[SOLVED] OSC connection from Windows on Isadora to Max/MSP on Mac
-
I am familiar sending OSC data between computers from Isadora to Isadora or from Max to Max, but I am having a problem sending from Isadora on a Windows computer to Max/MSP on a Mac. I am using the correct udp/ip address and port # on Isadora’s OSC transmit actor, but I am unclear what OSC transmit address I should use to send to the Max/MSP-Mac. Any suggestions or sample patches would be appreciated.

Hello, My way to do it

Sorry for the non matching OSC on the patch but I have a demo Windows Isadora and redoing it on mac I put port 10000 instead of 9000. But I tested it between Win and Mac

hello Jacques, yes, that works for me. Many thanks. I need to send 9 continuous streams of numbers from Isadora(PC) to Max(Mac). Do you know if it would be more efficient to use OSC Multi-transmit rather than 9 OSC transmit actors in Isadora, or is there no difference?
merci,

Its more efficient to send by multi-transmit, OSC use some bandwidth for addressing etc.
So if you need speed and its easy for you, use it, but you need to trigger the transmission, which frequency? Which signal trigger it?.
But the mantra is: test, test and test again!

Hi Jacques, great, thank you very much. This is working fine. I read in another post that you will be in Montreal. Would be good to meet up as I wanted to treat you to meal for all your assistance over the past few months. And thanks for the introduction to Armando.
regards,
Don
