I am having trouble with Isadora recognizing my blackmagic ultra studio device. I cannot get picture. I have gone through the steps to make sure the camera is working and I get image using other software. Does Izzy need a plugin of some sorts? Prepping a series of q's for a multi camera / multi surface show. Isadora recognizes the blackmagic box. Internal face time cam works fine. Suggestions?

@johnnymorenowhat system are you working on? Can you choose the BMD device ? Does it show up in Izzy and did you enable capture?

Do a quick double check with black magic software on the computer to see the exact frame rate its outputting. I was only seeing black until I selected the exact output in the Blackmagic device side of live input. (for example mine was 3840x2160 with 29.97 fps) it would show black if is was any other setting. or if it was using windows live capture.

Yes, you have to match it exactly (it's kind of a pain because there are so many options for the BM devices. By setting the framerate in the Blackmagic software you tell the hardware what to do and when you tell Isadora the framerate in Live Capture you tell Isadora what it's looking for. Thus if you told the Blackmagic device to do one thing and told Isadora to look for a different thing, you get no input (because you told Mx. Blackmagic to put on a red suit and then told Isadora to look for a person in a blue suit).

If it's the ultrastudio mini recorder they generally default to 59.94 (if I recall correctly). Select that in Live Capture and you should see an image.

Thank you. Issue solved. Combo output resolution and camera resetting itself. Thank you for the feedback.
