Question.  I have a main file containing lights and video for 40 scenes. in the background (file2) i have 70 scenes. lets call them subtitles.

is there a way to trigger file 2 to the output of the main file?

      Running MBP2017 / Osx 10.14.5 / 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 / Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB / Latest Isadora Version / www.gapworks.at / located in Vienna Austria

I guess using Broadcaster and Listener actors, you should be able to communicate the way you want between 2 different projects...

I have done this lots.  Mind you, not since the release of version 3.  Broadcasters and listeners do indeed transmit between separate files on the same computer.

@woland the broadcaster works well, thanks to all of you i managed. so file 1 trigger file 2  well. my problem is still to feed the output of the secondary file to the projector. in the preview it works great.

is there an option? or do i need to stick to "activate scene" for my subtitles and then listen to them.

Try sending out the subtitles to a Virtual Stage and enabling the NDI Out for that Stage in the Stage Setup and then downloading the NDI Watcher plugin to get the NDI feed into your main file and send it out to a display that way.
