[LOGGED] Zooming in on settings
-
I really like the view / zoom function when building a patch. It lets me see everything at once, or zoom in to check settings (as my eyes are getting bad). It is especially useful when teaching or recording a video tutorial, as I can show the students a particular actor, change a value etc and let it fill the screen.
However, if I want to show the min / max settings for value, or the Control ID num, the pop up settings window remains small.
I'm sure there's some logic behind it, but anyway, that's what's been coming up for me lately.
I can work around it, by zooming in the WHOLE screen on my mac display - but sometimes this creates odd glitches in the display (not sure if this was something linked to OBS?)

You're right about the fact that the Property Inspector does not zoom like the rest of the actors.
But when I'm using OBS to broadcast the Guru Sessions, I use the built in zoom function of MacOS as described here. The image broadcast to the viewers zooms just like it does on the screen, and I've not noticed any problems with this. Is this what you're doing too? (You're link doesn't include a time to show where the problem happens... can you tell me specifically where to look?)
Note that this mouse-wheel zoom feature does not work in Zoom -- or so I've been told. (Do others have a different story to tell on this?)
In any case, if you're trying to remote teach with OBS I think that scroll wheel zoom is the way to go.

@mark - sorry - the section on the video is at 6min 40 secs - yes, I'm also using the built in zoom function of MacOS in this instance (but just via my trackpad and 'ctl')
Just now had feedback from my students that they don't see the display zoom in when I share my application window. (We are using 'BlueJeans' video app)- I've done a couple of tests, and similarly seems to be the case when i simply 'share screen'.
you can see my test here - https://bluejeans.com/s/OGg8A/ - there is no apparent OS zoom effect being streamed / recorded.

Yes, I think some apps "see" this and some don't unfortunately. I am grateful that OBS sees it because I use it all the time for the guru sessions.
Best Wishes,
