1 projector -> 3 splits ?
-
Hi everyone,
I'm a newcomer on this forum.
I've been using Isadora for a show for 2 weeks and it seems to me a good software.
I have a question : Is that possible to split one stage in three only with one projector so that my parameters (the size of each split) could be kept for the following scenes? The reason of my question is that now I don't know how to avoid the fastidious and long task of resizing the parameters for each image.
I'm asking for help because in spite of my long studies on the software, I didn't find any solution. So if you have one, please, I would be delighted!
Thank you so much for your concern

not quite sure what you are trying to do. So I guess you are using three projectors each going to a different stage. If you want the same settings for each stage you can put the projectors into a user actor. If you then change the settings in any scene for one stage it will change the settings in all other scenes for that stage.

Dear Angélique, I don't realy get, what you wan't to achieve. Maybe it would be helpfull if you'd give some more details, screenshots, or even your project file, so we could have an Idea of what your actual setup is at the moment.

Like others, I am not 100% sure what you are trying to accomplish.
I suspect you have built a show with a single stage, using 1 Projector actor, and now want to cut your video output into 3 and output to 3 physical projectors. Let me know if I am wrong.First, I would suggest you make a User Actor that contains your projector, and replace all instances of your Projector with this new User Actor.
its a bit of work, but will save you a lot as we move ahead.
Next, once all your Projectors are replaced, you can make changes to this one User Actor, and 'update all' so that changes made there are applied to all instances. So, you can now 'Chopper' your video inside the User Actor, into thirds, and feed each third into a Projector actor (once set to stage 1, another set to stage 2, and the last set to stage 3). Close and update all :)
Last, open Stage Setup and setup your 3 displays (physical projectors). You may want to use the Blend Maker if you want to merge these images back into one in the real world.
... depending on your stage setup, you will likely need to do some adjustments to your video chopping, and Projector actor settings.
But, this should be pretty easy, again due to being able to update all instances of your User Actor.I hope that's helpful.

Like DusX said, you can use Chopper actors to break your video into thirds. I'd then suggest putting those in a User Actor because when you make changes to this User Actor in any Scene, you can choose the save the changes to all instances of the User Actor. So if you have this User Actor that contains your Chopper and Projector actors in all your Scenes, you can adjust it in any Scene and the changes will be made to all the User Actors in your other Scenes too.
Another method is to route all your video back to a secondary Scene and have that Scene be the only one that has Projector actors. Take a look at my Global Mapping Template.
If you're talking about actual signal splitting to physical displays (i.e. you want to have different Stages assigned to different thirds of a physical display), please take a look at this article: https://support.troikatronix.c...
