[ANSWERED] Keep the beamers connected to the correct stage?
-
Hi, just opened Isadora with the mapping I made yesterday and the 2 beamers that are connected swopped stages. Is there a way to open Isadora each time with the same stage connected to the same beamer?
I've read this https://support.troikatronix.c..., but did not see how to make sure the same stage is connected to the same beamer.

I don't know if you are on a mac or pc. But this is not an Isadora issue. At least on a mac you have to be aware of the order how your displays are connected.
The best approach to keep the display in the same order is
- plug in all your displays/beamers and make sure they are switched on
- in the display settings uncheck "mirror displays"
- restart the mac
From now on do following
- switch on all displays (this is important)
- start the mac
I never had problems with changing screen order doing it this way.

@michel Thank you so much for your fast reply. Great I am going to try this out (on a Mac)!

I too have recently encountered several times (on a mac) the problem of the external display swapping stages.
When i'm out VJ-ing using Isadora i'll typically prepare my Isadora setup before arriving at the venue, so in theory all i have to do is plug into an HDMI cable, open the lid of my Mac and i'm ready to go... as oppose to plugging in and then powering up from scratch. Also, i might have a VJ set in one zone and then immediately after have to move to another zone for the next set, with minimal delay (so powering my mac off and on again isn't desired).
My home setup has the primary display (Display 1, showing Isadora controls) on the right and the second display (Display 2, showing Stage 1) on the left. A couple of times recently, on different occasions at different locations, when i've plugged in the HDMI cable immediately before my set and then pressed "Control G - Show Stages" the displays have swapped over, with the primary screen appearing on the left.
In the recent post "IzzyMap Window Opens on Wrong Display Under Windows" @Woland wrote "A quick test showed that IzzyMap will always open on the leftmost display"... so am guessing when i prepare my Isadora setup before a gig i should ensure the primary display is on the left and not right?

The issue is only on Windows, and has to do with the IzzyMap Editor, not the stage itself. Your signature line indicates you're on a Mac.

Thanks @mark,
I'll try reproducing the setup to figure out what's happening and will report back findings

Mac or Windows, our recommendation is always to have your primary display all the way to the left and the rest of the displays in order going out to the right from the primary display in a straight line.
