This summer, as I’m thinking about future production work for the coming years, I’ve started to consider what kind of live data I want to be able to use in the context of live performance. To that end, one of the more interesting sensors worth examining are accelerometers. While there are lots of ways to work with these seniors, a simple way to get started is to use an iPhone or iPod touch to broadcast it’s data over a wireless network.
If this sounds like something you want to know more about, you can see a full tutorial here:

glad it was useful @vanderzee. Having a sense of what the accelerometer is reporting out is going to be useful. I've also heard great things about NI Mate [ http://www.ni-mate.com/ ] if you happen to have access to a Kinect.

              Hello raganmd,
I followed your tutorial and noticed that you are getting negative values in the output of your osc listener actor.  How is that possible?  What magic is that?  Please help!
              thanks!

                Hi thesadfox!

So sorry for the tardy reply! I'm just seeing this post after a whirlwind of a month. I'm using TouchOSC as to pass accelerometer data over to Isadora. This app sends out OSC data from the accelerometers on a scale of -1 to 1\. In Isadora I'm then scaling these values. Does that help at all?
