video on hold (freeze-frame) audio keeps running
-
Hello everybody.
I'm new here. And I was just trying the first thing from the tutorials which is playing a movie and when I plug the movie to the projector on the scene editor it looks like everything is running, audio does play and position values runs normal. But the problem is video just show static frame. funny is that if I pause and then play it, the movie frame moves to that position but again freezes...
any idea why?
(i tried with .mp4 and .avi files with the same result)

hi again...
I tried different type of video files but I think problem is that windows 8 is not supported by version 3...
so I tried Isadora version 1 and it works -

It would be very helpful to know what kind of movie you're trying to play. Isadora 3 should play most WMV, AVI and MOV files -- though it will not play Apple Pro Res .MOV files. If you hover the mouse over the movie in the Media View, Isadora 3 will give a summary of the movie's characteristics in a "tool tip."
If you can take a screen shot of that tooltip and post it here, that would be great.
Best Wishes,

Hey... hi
hello
well... i tried different shots
I have converted the original files using a codec (hap) and an app (shutter encoder) recommended by ryan in a ticket I opened
as you can see on the images attached below the interactive response changed to "good" from "poor" (that I had for the original file...)
but the funny thing is that now when i do ctrl+g to see the stage... its black and nothing runs (sound or position) like if there is no file input -
Hey, hi.
Hello.
I was checking on patches... i found the one for subtitling and tried out of curiosity... i gave a video input... and voila... it ran the video on stage preview (crtl+g) it was even a h264 .mp4 file
it ran it once and then it went back to the freeze frame... :(
p.s. i tried several files, I even put a movie and let it run for several minutes without problems....i guess it is the windows 8 issue

Yes, Windows 8 is unsupported and untested. You really need to be running Windows 10.
