I had a search and a look through the tools, but just in case i missed something is there a way to load an image from a URL?

Static ones with jpegs or even better stuff like this:

      https://placekitten.com/200/30...

I made with Quartz composer a very simple patch that allows to load an image. Having only mojave on my mac I don't know if the Quartz composer file works on higher OS. In Mojave it works well.

        Web-image import.qtz.zip

Put this file in the ~/Library/Compositions/ folder and restart Isadora. You will find the QC Web-image import in the QC actors.

@jfg cheers but this needs to be cross platform. I've been staying away from quartz composer for some time as it is untenable in the future.

if you know somebody with a Pro license for Vuo, they can make a FFGL plugin for you. The best solution will be to have a native Isadora plugin like also one for open URL in a browser or for files in the corresponding app. Still waiting for these actors.

              Hi,

Here is the FFGL pugin x64 from the Vuo app. The problem is that this plugin is only for mac users.

              Web URL plugin

                  Hi there Fred,

Sadly we don't have a native way in Isadora to do this properly. I have a Processing 3 patch that I can share with you that you can send commands using OSC, output using Syphon / Spout based on OS.

Let me clean it up and put it on Github.

We heard your feedback and we will put it on the list!

I have used Python in the past to replace linked images so that I could update them.

@dusx @Juriaan It is very easy to make something external to do this, but i am looking for a cross platform integrated solution. @jandraka Thanks a lot, this is getting closer to what I need. All in all it would be cool to have this ability inside Isadora. I will put in a feature request.
