      Hi.

Just need to double check if using HAPQ Quicktime on Windows 10 is recommend in Isadora 3. We've had no issues with playback so far but we are about to finalise the installation and wanted to double check.

I've read changes were made in Izzy V3 to allow for Quicktime HAP-Q playback but the optimising for speed wiki still states to use AVI HAP. It'll be easier if we could stick with HAP QT.

      PC SPEC:

      Focusrite USB souncard

      AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT Six Core CPU (3.8GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4)

      MotherboardASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s)

      16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz

      6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060

      NVME ssd 3500mb/s read speed

      thanks

      Darius

I haven't found any issues with using HapQ on windows. It runs in much the same way as AVI except with a small DirectShow graph that converts its wrapper.
In fact you can easily rewrap Hap MOV files to Hap AVI files (shutter encoder is one tool that makes this easy) without re-encoding the frames.
The only aspect that I can't say is heavily tested is embedding multi-channel audio into the Hap MOV files. I believe the audio should still be routed according to how the OS is setup, but I can't be sure at this moment.
I expect you won't have issues with the Hap files.

@dusx Many thanks. We've not seen any issues. It's running really well and 5.1 is playing fine, too.

            Great to hear!
And thanks for the update on the surround sound / multi-channel audio.
