I agree It would be very useful to be able to adjust the input gain programmatically. I am quite often adjusting the input gain when working with the dynamics of audio frequency and it is inconveniently located in the live input settings dialog. For use with audio frequencies i would say it is important to have seperate gain control for input and output audio.
