hi,

I am thinking about a feature request that provides more metadata properties information about items in media bins. It would be useful to have programmatic access to metadata output properties of the various file types associated with media bins. For example when working with automated media bin builds. It might work something like the ‘get’ series of actors e.g. “Get Media File Metadata”. 

There are a number of properties that can be revealed through file metadata for most media types, including creation and modification dates, dimensions, codecs/compression, alpha channel, fps, audio channels, duration e.t.c

I think this is an excellent suggestion. Among other things it could be a neat way to help with the issues around accessing fps/DEF that @jfg raised on the other thread.
