Hello, when i convert an mp4 movie to hap alpha using Shutter Encoder or AVF Batch Converter i cannot see the alpha mask in Isadora.

I can see the alpha mask when i test with a downloaded sample movie (that has an alpha mask)

I'm assuming i first need to use a video editing app (like premier or after effects) to add the alpha mask to the original mp4 movie and then export it out, right?

If so, can anyone recommend a free or simple video editing app i could use for this purpose?

      Many thanks, Mr J

Could you use one of the add alpha mask type actors in Isadora?

          Cheers,

I would not use mp4 for this purpose. I recommend ProRes 4444. This will give you the cleanest image and alpha. You can then convert this quickly using Shutter encoder. (this is very much my personal process)

Resolve is a great free editor to use.
