Texts on performance, body, screen, technology
-
Hello everyone
I am teaching a "Screen Studies" theory course in South Africa at Wits University, as part of a Film & TV Degree. I am making this an "embodied theory" experience, where students will link up with the production of a video and dance work-in-progress by choreographer Nelisiwe Xaba. In our previous work "Uncles & Angels" we used Isadora extensively.
Now I need to also provide readings, and this is where I would like to ask for help. If anyone can point me to theorists or texts that deal in an interesting way with the intersection of body, technology and screen on stage I will be very grateful.
Appreciated in advance!

In the meantime I found this: Digital Theatre: The Making and Meaning of Live Mediated Performance, US & UK 1990-2020 by Nadja Masura. With a section on Troika Ranch!

Hi Mocke,Have a look at publications by Johannes Birringer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...) he's written lots about the subject, and organised many conferences so he's kind of like a hub for body/tech/performance, at least in the UK
all the best,john
