stage to Apple TV
-
hello. i've been using an Apple TV device to mirror my desktop and it works fine, but if i try to use it as a secondary display, the stage just draws a white screen. it looks like it might work, but when i go from force stage preview to show stages, the output goes from black to white, and doesn't show the video from my projector actor.
any ideas?

That's often an issue with OpenGL support..... it might be that Apple TV is by-passing openGL

I must admit that we've never tested this configuration, so I have no idea if this could ever work. @DusX 's guess that it has something to do without OpenGL is involved is probably right. But in the end, I'd need to run Isadora in the debugger and look at stuff with an Apple TV connected, which I don't have.
I can't make any promises about this, as I don't think it's a frequently used configuration.

I just made a test with my MacBook Pro M1 and an Apple TV3 (an old one) and it works also with a movie player and a live drawing actor on top. First I had problem to get the sound but afterI try to connect to another Airplay device and go back to the Apple TV it works well. As expected there is a small delay but really small although my Apple TV is connected over Wifi – the computer over LAN– to my network.
Edit: a test with MacBook Pro Intel, Mojave and Isadora 3.2.2 is also positiv.

I use the Apple TV as an extended display quit often. I am getting the same response as @dbini with an i9 intel MBP OS12.6. I can set a stage preview to full size and move it to the Apple TV display, or mirror the main display, but Show Stages does not work with the Apple TV in extended display mode.

What I am trying is working as long as I have only one stage in the Stage Setup. I had 2 external monitors connected to my MacBook and I got the stage 1 in extended display mode on the Apple TV. But if I create a new stage I get only the screen background picture on the Apple TV but the sound is running. Only one stage is not really a good solution.
The other problem I had was a Isadora crash if I switch to Apple TV with opened Isadoraora. I have to first switch to Apple TV and then open Isadora. Changing configurations in Monitors let Isadora crash.

Just made a new test with "Monitors using separate space" and it is working good (see the pictures). I could use 3 stages with three different screen (2 Monitors and a projector connected to the Apple TV)+ the screen of my MacBook and the films were running on the 3 screens.
