[ANSWERED] Isadora + Tascam US16x08 help
-
I'm installing a 4-screen 8-channel video and sound installation and am using a Tascam US16x08 for the audio outputs. Right now, all of the sounds are coming out of one speaker but I want each channel to have its own audio output. I've selected the Tascam as the audio device but I'm not sure if I should be controlling sound in Isadora or in the Tascam Settings Panel.
Does anyone have any experience doing multichannel sound in this way?

There is multiple audio track routing available using the Sound Player. In addition on Mac OS there are Apple audio plugins that allow mixing and routing multiple audio tracks.
There is a knowledge base article about using the Sound Player actor:

@bonemap thank you!

@bonemap I can't tell if we got lucky but sound was working when 3 speakers were plugged in. Once I plugged in all 8 into the Tascam, the sound started stuttering through all of the speakers (though the video looks fine).
Because the audio is tied to the videos, is there a way to send audio from the video players to separate sound players?
Isadora recognizes the Tascam but none of the equalizers in the Audio View are showing any input even though all of the speakers are producing sound. Once it stopped working, it really stopped working (after unplugging several of the speakers, the sound was still stuttering). -

Unfortunately, no. We have plans to make an audio output from the Movie Player so that the audio can be run through other audio actors, but at the moment you can't send the audio from a Movie Player actor to a Sound Player actor. The article Bonemap linked above about multitrack audio using macOS is the place to go for multichannel audio routing with the Movie Player actor.
I'm not sure if there's a solution for multi-channel audio routing from a Movie Player on Windows right now. @DusX @Juriaan any thoughts?

This is because the Audio View is for the new multichannel audio routing system that's been implemented in the Sound Player and Tone Generator actors. Audio from the Movie Player actor uses different audio code and thus won't show up in the Audio View. We intend to give the Movie Player actor the same multichannel audio routing capabilities as the Sound Player and Tone Generator actors as soon as we can but at the moment we've got our hands full developing IzzyCast.
