Hello folks, I am running into an issue with animated GIF and Isadora. It seems I am not able to run the animated gifs. The movie "896535al1Ykfdt.gif" could not be read because of an unexpected error. (Error = 42). I am on M1 chipset, am I missing some codec?

i think you need to convert to 'mov' file... I'm pretty sure Isadora doesn't play gifs. (?)

        from the manual p22:

"...Isadora can play and manipulate five types of files: Digital Video Files, Digital Audio Files, Pictures, Standard MIDI Files or 3D Object Files (3DS)."

@notdoc Hi! and thank you for the reply, I read that before it has supported. I am curious, is this to do to new framework?

Isadora does support basic Animated Gif playback. Animated Gifs can have a number of advanced settings which Isadora does not support. If using animated Gifs it is best to use an Animated gif where each frame is the same playback time.
Some Animated Gifs found on the internet may not work. We currently do not know the reason for this but have found that opening and re-exporting the file from a tool such as https://ezgif.com/maker can fix the problem.

I would also add that https://www.shutterencoder.com... (free and opensource) can convert Animated Gifs to Hap videos very easily (drag the file in, select the Hap Codec, and click to Start). Hap playback will be more performance optimized.
