running 3.2.6 on M2 MacBook Pro
-
Hi, I've just tried installing isadoramac-326f00-std.dmg on a MacBook Pro 16-inch 2023 M2 Max running Venterua 13.0 and get the prompt...
To install "Isadora 3 - Standard Version (Intel/ARM)" you need to install Rosetta
i was expecting Isadora to run natively without requiring Rosetta (since i'm not using OpenNi Tracker or any other specific add-ons), so how should i best proceed?
Have also just upgraded from Ventura 13.0 to 13.2.1, with the same prompt. And have logged a technical support ticket

Is there a reason that you don't want to install Rosetta? As you said, you don't need to run Isadora in Rosetta, but if you can't install without it and there's no downside to having it on the computer, why not install Rosetta?

ah @woland, thanks for your reply, my mistake... i didn't realise Rosetta is only required for the install. Have enabled Rosetta 2, installed Isadora 3.2.6 and yes indeed it's showing as "universal".
Will report back performance findings shortly.

@mr_j How is your MacBook Pro M2 working now? Running into any snags? I need to update my computers and am wondering what to do.

hi @nandada, i haven't hit any snags on my M2 MBP
As expected am getting much better performance compared to my 2019 MBP. Load is around 50% when running 8x 1920x1080 HAP encoded videos simultaneously (with 1 out), with settings of target frame rate 30fps, general service 20x per frame and display refresh scaled.
My 2019 MBP would hit 100% load after running more than 6 simultaneous videos, so i previously used a target frame rate of 15fps
Have borrowed a couple of monitors to play with 3 out and will report back results soon
