Izzymap handle selection confusion
-
Hello folks,
I've just finished a tour that uses 2 ultra-short-throw beamers to create a video floor. I map one beamer to the floor using the 4 corners of the standard Izzymap output and then use a 4 x 4 grid to adjust the other beamer's image to match the first one.
The issue i have been encountering is in selecting points to adjust - the corner points of the grid are in the same place as the corner points of the whole map. it seems impossible to select one side of the whole map if the edges of the grid map are sitting along that side.
I was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut to help select either the grid map or the main map? or could the main map handles be bigger? or on little stalks so that they extend beyond the corners? and be able to shift click 2 of the handles to select one side? or the outside of the handle be connected to the main map and the inside to the grid map? -
Firstly, it would be helpful to know if you're talking about the input view of IzzyMap, the output view of IzzyMap, or both views since they have different behavior. (For example you can warp the entire output using handles that do appear farther out than the corners of your mapping slices.)

I understand you have a grid map slice, but when you say "whole map" and "main map" are you referring to the default rectangle IzzyMap Slice?
Note: If you're having trouble selecting a particular IzzyMap slice when you have more than one, you can isolate the specific slice(s) you want using Solo Mode: https://recordit.co/5GXERJJAb3@dbini said:

If you have multiple slices and want to get just the edge of your grid map slice, use solo mode, hold shift, then left-click each of the points or edges along the desired side; you'll see the IzzyMap points become slightly opaque (instead of being transparent circles) to indicate that they're selected. When you've selected all the points along the desired edge, release shift, then left-click and drag a selected point or edge of the desired side to drag the whole side. (I can make a gif later if this description wasn't enough, but I need to head into a meeting).
Best wishes,

Thanks L - i realise now that the handles on the corners of the output map are pretty easy to grab, i think my difficulty has been with grabbing an edge of the default slice. I can't seem to work out Solo mode. whenever i click it, i lose the slice. here's a video that shows my issue. i only have one slice that contains a 4x4 grid. i'm trying to move one edge of the whole slice, so i select a corner, shift-select another corner, go to move the side and it grabs an edge of one of the gridsquares instead. -
Solo mode is only useful if you're trying to isolate one slice of many. It's not useful in your case where you have only one slice. (Also see my previous Solo Mode gif for the actual demo, but in order for a slice to show up in IzzyMap, you need to left-click the little "S" in the box to the right of the slice's name in the mapping slice list. Non-Solo slices have a white outlined box around a white "S". Solo-enabled slices have a filled-in white box around an "S".)

Here's the gif of that. Shift-clicking the points along the desired edge to select them, releasing shift, then left-clicking and dragging one of the selected points will do what you want I think.
