      Re: [[ANSWERED] Very basic: Control LED over Isadora with Enttec ODE Mk2](/topic/7769/answered-very-basic-control-led-over-isadora-with-enttec-ode-mk2)

      Hi everyone, I'm planning to create a project for an interactive wall mural, with 6 LED light strips that shift in intensity in response to cues within the scenes. I first want to get the correct hardware and have referenced the above topic.

      The light strips would be bright RGB LED strips. The tech support ticket above seems as if it is for theater LED lights, but I am looking at strips. Any suggestions on the setup?

         Hi there Lois,

        You need a so-called SPI Controller to control Pixel strips like that; depending on your chipset you will need a converter that can basically convert DMX (or sACN) to SPI.

        A few examples of those controllers;

        https://dmxking.com/led-pixel-...

        The ingredients that you need;

        1. A DMX to SPI Controller
        2. A beefy power supply! (You need 60mA for every single pixel, 5v, WS2813 preferred since they won't die when a pixel is broken)
        3. A way to connect all the grounds together

        More information about the subject can be found here;

        And this great article of Adafruit regarding Neopixels
