Hi Izzy community, I'm looking for some help. I am struggling to open an izzy file that @mark created for use with the iKeleton OSC iOS app. The thread can be found here: https://community.troikatronix.com/topic/8409/ios-skeleton-tracking-app-with-osc-free-until-may-5th?_=1695879558655

Having downloaded the file I can see it was created in Isadora 3.2.6, but for some reason I am unable to open the file in Isadora 3.2.6. I'm initially prompted to created a new version of the file that will run in 3.2.6, which seems odd behaviour and then Isadora crashes.

In the above thread Mark says that he used the Guru 19 Rokoko Studio live Isadora file as the basis for this new file. I attempted to open this file instead (I have successfully done so previously) and again Isadora crashes. I even downloaded the version of Isadora that this file was created in, Isadora 3.0.7, again Isadora crashes.

I have attempted to open both files on two different Macs (see signature below), in each instance Isadora is running in Rosetta mode and I have ensured I have downloaded the most recent OpenNI Tracker, Skeleton Decoder, Skeleton Visualiser and Rokoko Studio Live Watcher add-ons.

Could it be my macOS? I'm running Ventura 13.5.2. Has any one else experienced this problem? If anyone is able to open the Isadora file from the link above and could then post a screen shot of the patch, including any user actors that will be super appreciated.

      Many thanks and warmest wishes,

      Simon

        Hi @paz,

I have been able to access and run the file linked in your post and originating from @mark. I had previously downloaded and installed the 'ikeleton' on my iphone 14. I opened the patch in Isadora 3.2.6.

I connected a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.5.2 to the iphones hot spot. I then entered the ip address of the macbook pro into the settings panel of the ikeleton software. I entered the default Isadora channel address '1234' into the 'ikeleton' setting panel.

I used the software 'Lan Scan' on my macbook pro to identify the ip address and this is what was entered into the 'ikeleton' software settings on the iphone. The ip address for the macbook pro was not displaying in the Isadora settings - as it sometimes does, so I used the Lan Scan software to get the address.

I then accessed the stream setup drop down from the Isadora interface. I checked the auto-detect option. The stream of data from 'ikeleton' was present and the patch @mark has shared started to function as expected.

There was no need to use any other patch elements or have the OpenNi, Skeleton decoder/visualiser or Rokoko actors to enable the patch.

I hope this helps resolve some of our issues.

        Best Wishes

        Russell

          Hi @bonemap ,

Many thanks for your clear and detailed reply. I really appreciate your input. The fact that you've been able to access the Isadora file linked in my original post with an Intel Mac running Ventura is good to know. Could it be an Arm processor issue do you think?

I should have been clearer in my original post and stated that I've successfully connected the iKeleton app to Isadora 3.2.6 in a newly created Isadora file and I can see the incoming OSC data within the Stream Setup window; the data is also available in the OSC Multi Listener Actor. However, I was hoping to utilise @mark 's wizard programming skills and see how his patch enables iKeleton's OSC data to interact with the Live Drawing Actor.

My other concern is that the Guru 19 "rokoko-studio-live-watcher-tutorial.izz" file, which the "ikeleton-live-drawing.izz" file is based upon, is crashing Isadora. When I attempt to open either file, I'm prompted to create a new version of the file, saved in the most recent version of Isadora; I click "OK" to this prompt and then the program crashes. Perhaps I should submit a support ticket.

Many thanks again Russell for your support, the "LanScan" software sounds very useful too, I will get that downloaded!

          Best wishes,

          Simon

on my MacBook Pro M1 Max works perfect. IP address, Port of the Mac in the app and it works.

            Best regards,

@jfg Thanks for clarification. That’s really useful to know. Something bad at my end I guess 😕 I’ll see what I can figure out.

              Best wishes, Simon

Big thanks to @woland for sorting out my issue with opening this file.

The solution was to reset my Isadora preferences!

Just thought I'd share this info as it might be useful to others in a similar situation. From the menu bar: Isadora - Reset Preferences.

Thanks again to everyone that offered help - great community!
