I'm trying to run a video capture from my webcam and a Kinect feed using the OpenNI actor at the same time. Unfortunately, it seems an either-or situation. As soon as I Start Capture for the webcam, the Kinect image freezes, and visa versa. Any idea how to solve this? (I kind of need this quite urgently for an installation).

      thanks all.

Seems that you are running out of bandwith. Are we talking an external webcam or the internal one.

If it is an external one then please try to plug it into an other usb slot.

Long story short, the usb ports on our device are connected together in lanes. The data that goes on these lanes can cause a traffic jam. So you either need to decrease the traffic (the resolution of your feeds) or use an other lane.

With a laptop is will mainly be left side that is all connected with each other and the right side that is connected with each other. But please try them all out and see or it works.

The kinect requires a high bandwith connection
