Can anyone open this?
-
I've been actively working with this file and suddenly it won't open and Isadora crashes. I've been using 13.0f24 and 25. I really don't want to lose the work I've done and would like to know why it suddenly crashes.
Thanks,
Valerie

Information on the latest crash: AppName: isadora.exe AppVer: 1.3.0.24 ModName: isadora.exe ModVer: 1.3.0.24 Offset: 002d0722 I'm running a PC; other files still work. Thanks, Valerie

Yup crashing mine too. (Including unreleased beta tester versions) Interesting. Error on mac suggests something to do with a buffer...?

I got another error message reading that Quicktime had failed, so I updated Quicktime and that didn't work either. What was the patch doing did it have anything complex in it? Image Buffer, etc?
-
Nothing too complex with video (yet). Mostly sound movie players, comparators, picture players, my own user actors. I have huge amounts of text in comment boxes. I'm trying to remember if there are scenes that I cadged from other files that may have particle generators, but I don't think so. My video is not done for this show yet, so it's not included in this Isadora file. There are about 7 scenes, but because it's crashing, I can't see any of them. Thanks for checking this.

Sometimes Mark can edit the problematic part out of the file, so you can open it again and correct the problem. Send him a bug report and follow up.
Or if you use mac and Time Machine go back to the state where it opens still.(sorry I see you use PC - so check your backup) -
Dear Valerie,
I've taken a look. You've exceeded the maximum length of a text buffer in Isadora, which currently is 16K bytes. It appears this was in a comment actor, where you had entered the text of your story. (I will increase this limit in the next version of Isadora.) I've deleted that text now, and sent you the modified version of the file. See if you can open it now, and be cautious about exceeding the 16K limit until I can publish a fix.Best Wishes,Mark -
You are the best! It opened just fine, and I'll pay attention to the text length. I assume the 16K limit is per comment, not per file?
-
See... Isn't this amazing.
BTW if you need to recover what you had in comments you can open the Story.izz with Smultron(or similar on PC). Then find ”comment" and you have all the text displayed line by line. -
Glad this is sorted :)
