Sharing OSC PIBOT: Robotics - OSC toolkit for Isadora and Max
-
Hello all,
I wanted to share back the Isadora world, OSC PIBOT, a new OSC <> robotics framework I and others recently developed for a series of public art projects, which allow Isadora to operate as a artist friendly unified control interface for the improvisational and performative use of robots that utilise either the iCreate bluetooth SDK or ROS2, as well as I2C based hardware running on Raspberry Pi's.
The ROS2 <> OSC interface is still in active development, but the interface for bluetooth based robot control I have now used in number of active projects, and we have just published the python framework as an open source tool.
The hope is that it can ease some of the burden for artists interested in working performatively with robotics, but who may not have the expertise to develop the code base needed to interface with a bluetooth or ROS2 based bot.
I'd welcome any / all questions or interest in collaboration on future development.
You can learn more about the framework and whats needed to use on our github repo:

I've also attached an example file for Isadora.
Best wishes all,
Ian
