Video Loop Stuttering
-
Hi all,
I'm really struggling with video loops for a project that's under a bit of a time crunch. The looping of the video is inconsistent. Sometimes, it reaches the end of the video and stutters very briefly before starting over, and sometimes, it stops completely. I have a few loops (of the same footage) that get out of sync as they don't always stutter/stop to the same degree. I'm seeking guidance that hopefully helps me avoid rendering longer videos.
For more context, I've attached a video of 2 Movie Players as I start a scene. The first time through, they only hesitate, but the second round, you can see a fairly substantial lag (it sticks on 99.5313 both times). This is only an 8-second video in 1080p encoded H.264. In this test, I restarted Isadora right before, I don't have the laptop connected to projectors or monitors, and the stage preview is off, so there isn't any video actually being rendered.
I must have used this loop feature so many times without issue. Any ideas?
Best,
Rory

encoded H.264
Playback will be smoother with a non H.264 encoding. (this encoding requires more than a single frame be loaded for each frame show.. so loops are problem-matic and reverse playback is terrible). If you create HAP files (or prores) each frame can be shown when only the data for that frame is loaded. You can find hints about the quality/usage of your video media in the media panel when you rollover/hover over an imported file.
