      Hi Everyone,

Is it possible to get a live stream from YouTube into Isadora?

      Many thanks

      Simon

Yes. I have done this and then used Izzy map to shape it etc

Your friendly applications here are NDI or Syphon (spout for PC).

I used NDI Screen Capture to capture the youtube/chrome app and then used an NDI watcher actor in Isadora. It was all quite straightforward. There are probably better and more elegant ways to do it but NDI feed from chrome into isadora worked for me.

I did not have to worry about the audio as I just piped this straight into the PA.

It worked pretty well. Sometimes the video being projected stuttered but just keep an eye on it and have a 2nd computer backing up if need be..

My stutter (I reckon) was due to the youtube feed being a live stream from a couple of sources as well as being streamed to me.

You can use the Screen Capture actor: https://troikatronix.com/add-ons/screen-capture/

Mini-Tutorial Video for the Screen Capture actor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQnDa6gslMg

For the reverse direction (streaming to YouTube from Isadora) you can use the RTMP Streamer actor: https://troikatronix.com/add-ons/rtmp-streamer/

          Best wishes,
