Follow the steps in this article about using TouchOSC with Isadora and see if you're still having issues. Sometimes it's easy to miss a step in the setup process. I just confirmed TouchOSC is working for me.
Here are some steps to try:
- Make sure you're not on a network with a ton of security like university wifi. (Ideally you want a dedicated network for this so you don't have to deal with traffic from others on the same network.)
- On your computer, make sure you're connected to the same network as the device running TouchOSC, if you're not and you switch networks, you'll need to quit Isadora and re-launch it (not just close the Isadora file and re-open it, but actually quit the Isadora application and re-launch it). This will cause Isadora to operate using the IP it got for the new network.
- Open Isadora Preferences/Settings by going to Isadora > Preferences/Settings (it'll say "Settings" if you're on a newer version of macOS)
- In Isadora Preferences, go to the "Midi/Net" tab and make sure that under Open Sound Control (OSC) > IP Port Number it's set to 1234 (should be the default).
- Check what IP address Isadora is using (all the way at the bottom of Isadora Preferences, labeled "Local IP Address"). Note this IP address or keep Isadora Preferences open for the next steps so you can reference it.
- In TouchOSC under "Connections" make sure the first two items you can click on have the "Host" set to the same IP address that appears at the bottom of Isadora Preferences.
