Joystick Control / Video In PTZ Image Control Actor / OBSBot Tiny 4K
-
Thank you for the Joystick Control Panel actor.
I imagine this is intended for use, as I am using it, with the Video In PTZ Image Control Actor.
Unfortunately I am finding the horizontal control in both 'relative' and unrelative mode to be very inconsistent with my OBSbot Tiny 4K. I think this is the Video In PTZ Image Control Actor, not the Joystick, as the Joystick Control actor sends the correct values, and I see them change in the Video In PTZ Image Control Actor but the camera itself doesn't move. This is more an issue with pan than with tilt.
Please let me know what I can do to troubleshoot this!
Thanks
Mark
PSA suggestion:
In the 'help' associated with the Joystick actor, it always refers to 'horizontal' and 'vertical' values, whereas the Video In PTZ Image Control Actor uses the nomenclature 'pan' and 'tilt'.
It's a minor thing, but perhaps they should speak the same language, as I suppose we all want to connect the horizontal control to the pan input etc etc.

Unfortunately, I can't help troubleshoot this directly because I don't have the same hardware you do. Perhaps connecting the Joystick Control to a Smoother actor set to a high smoothing value and then feeding that into the Video In PTZ Image Control actor. You could also put a "Float to Integer" actor between them in case it's the tons of data being sent continuously that's causing the problem. Alternatively, you could also try reducing the pan/tilt speed input properties at the bottom of that actor.

The Joystick control can be used with the PTZ actors, but can also be used with anything else in Isadora and the vocab of "horizontal" and "vertical" is used in many more actors than "pan" and "tilt".

This actor uses the UVC (USB Video Class) standard, doesn't your camera offer its own control method, OSC or something? (I recall there was something). It may be better to use that if available. Unfortunately we don't have a OBSot to test with.
A quick test of my UVC supporting webcam (it provides digital zoom, pan and tilt), and I can see that it only supports moves or 6.25 increments. So with 'get values' = on, I can see that the 'cur pan' only changes in 6.25 increments and this is a limitation of the camera itself. You may want to see what increments your camera allows for both Pan and Tilt.
