      Hi

I have been using Isadora 3.1.1  with my mac book pro

For some years I edit a musical show that has 3 beamers projecting various images / videos on stage

Problem to edit show is involved having 2 set up 3 video outs on my MacBook Pro ( show computer) to 3 screens to replicate what’s needed live  time consuming and messy

My new solution is to get small mac book pro and a 3 screen extension system that works via usb type c very portable

      So

1  can I get a second license 3 for this comp if yes how much?

2 if I edit and have all my images on external drive will I be able to run it on show computer without any issues

We no longer sell Isadora 3 Licenses, but all the license types we currently sell (rental, subscription, perpetual, USB) can be used for both Isadora 4 and Isadora 3. The prices vary depending on your local currency and VAT so it’s best to just check the store and see the prices it shows you there: https://fastspringstore.troikatronix.com/

While an external drive will be fine for prototyping and editing while traveling, we would always suggest running a show with all the files on the internal drive of a computer as it will allow for the best performance (eliminating the problem of transfer/read/write speed bottlenecks that can occur when using media from an external drive for a live show). That being said, you may be fine and experience zero issues using an external drive for the actual performance itself, we just recommend using the internal drive when actually running the show.
