[ANSWERED] DMX how to resources & actors. Just begining my journey into izzy and DMX

Re: [DMX and Isadora](/topic/3237/dmx-and-isadora)
Hi,
I'm having some difficulties finding documentation or how to resources for integrating DMX into an Isadora project.
I have found some actors at the "ADD ONS" page. And I also found a forum post by Gunther from 2017 that had some info but some of the links seem to have expired.
So Im wondering....if there are any other more up-to-date resources around that would be a good place to start from? and
What actors on the add on page would be good to start with. [I did find an actor on Github "ENTTEC-DMX-USB_lightcontrol.izz" that looks simple but I get nervous about downloading things from git-hub.]
All I am wanting to do is throw some symapathetic/complimentary lighting into a courtyard where I have a fairly simple projection of coloured objects. Perhaps responding to the different hues of the coloured objects perhaps. I think have access to an Enttec ODE MkII and Chauvet DJ D-fi(?) Hub unit for testing/development. I've seen Enttec mentioned in a few posts about izzy.
Currently on izzy 3 and financially challenged.

Have you seen these tutorials?

@video-architect Hello! I hope the included screenshot helps. I was running a workshop and wanted to demonstrate how LED lighting units can be controlled by Isadora + TouchOSC on an iPhone to provide realtime control of the color palette. I used an Enttec Din Ethergate 2 ethernet to DMX convertor.
Best wishes,
Simon

Do you have an interface for DMX yet?
You likely want either something Enttec compatible or something for ArtNet. Both work similar but slightly different (although you can swap the outputs once you know how these work)
My Add-on is a common starting point for Enttec interfacing, it has both a user actor and a demo file: TROIKATRONIX : ISADORA - DX – DMX Universe – Enttec compatible

As always, thanks for your help. But unfortunately I seem to be buried in a large knowledge gap.
Regarding the interface, I'm fortunate enough to have access to an ENTTEC ODE Mk3 through the guys I work for occasionally. But I think (???) this is a device that connects over ethernet ad the patch you've provided is for a USB interface. I'm assuming this set up is a little different? Im assuming the connection via the serial port is not relevant? There is a warning that comes up about serial port not being activated and 'com 8' is 'off-line' when I go into serial port set up.
I have had success connecting via the Artnet send actor but I think im still lost in what settings to use in the inputs and outputs. Although Isadora knows it's there it won't do anything. Is this where the matrix send/recieve actors come in to set up the DMX channels?
Ive played around with your scene 'minimum required', attempting to alter that with ArtNet actors. But not convinced Im barking up the correct tree. I feel that if I could get that scene to do something I would have overcome my largest hurdle.(?)
Have also looked through the other material referenced here by others (Thanks guys) but there just seems to be a whole lot of stuff Ive not yet got my head around.
Any suggestions?

ENTTEC ODE Mk3
I have never used this device, but it appears to support art-net.
So the example I gave will not work, as it is for usb/serial.
You can grab the Art-net tutorial file from the art-net addons page or direct at: https://troikatronix.com/files...That should provide a starting point for getting going. If you still have issue, don't hesitate to ask.
