KB Discussion: IMPORTANT: About Preloading and Safely Using the Preload Actors

Dear All,

I've been getting crash reports in recent months that end up coming related to a misunderstanding or misuse of the various Preload actors. Part of the problem is that the way the Video Preload actor behaved in earlier versions (going back some time now) changed in v1.3.0f24.

P.S. The fact that the the behavior of the Video Preload actor changed in 1.3.f024, and the fact that I didn't point this out explicitly, is my mistake. It only because of some recent crash reports (over the past three or four months) that I came to realize how frequently some people were putting these actors to use, and the very unexpected ways in which they were using them. I'm sorry that I didn't raise a red flag about the potential problems much earlier.
