        Hi all,

having the following experience with Enttec Mk2 Pro into Isadora on Yosemite.
The Mk2 works in Isadora only with FTDI drivers 2.3\. (Download at: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm. )
But then once you install FTDI drivers the Mk2 doesn't work anymore within QLC+ and the Enttec Pro-Manager, which require D2XX drivers.
Any idea about how to fix this ?
Should I install and re-install these different drivers every time?

            @m_theater

            thanks for your feedback.
When I run The Mavericks utility to disable the FTDI drivers and fix the D2XX driver, Isadora doesn't see the Mk2 anymore.
As I was saying, in my case I see the Mk2 in Isadora only with the FTDI drivers... but then I loose it in QLC+

                @[lucslike](/troikatronixforum/profile/lucslike) , @gapworks

all right i got the point,

the way the enttec box works, i don't think you could have two processes feeding it at the same time
and it doesn't matter if you use the ftdi or d2xx drivers it wouldn't accept 2 apps
( in the end it is just a serial device like an arduino and the micro controller needs to communicate with the host app that he is ready to accept new data …)
in a conventional dmx cabling (two lighting desks -> 1 dimmer) you would need a dmx merger
so an option is to configure your lighting software that it accepts an input stream from isadora
with qlc+ you could try out the osc / midi input
chamsys is another beast and depending on your license (if you have a console connected )
you could do a remote control of your desk, we did some research on this last year
                http://avk4.net/isadora-chamsys-magicq/
last but not least if somebody is brave enough to build an actor (ola bridge) with full artnet / sacn capabilities
                possibilities are expanding …

                    Hi lucslike,

Just following up on this thread: did you ever manage to connect Isadora and QLC (or QLC+)?
                    If so, any tips?

                    Thanks

QLC+ is the now the active development branch and OSC is super easy, it even has OSC learn (and midi learn for that matter). Just go to the input and output section and configure your OSc and or midi then you can attach a remote command to any function, scene, fader, UI object or cue advance etc.

                        Thanks for your reply, Fred.

I'd like to run a show - just a proof of concept pilot - entirely from my iPhone using Isadora and Touch OSC.
I have an Enttec DMX USB Pro. The theatre I'm p

What I'd like to be able to do is - on the face of it - very simple: switch between two lighting states (incandescent lights via dimmer racks, with six lanterns in one state and two in the other and a simple fade between them) and to open and close a DMX controlled projector shutter.

What would you suggest is the best workflow for putting this together? I'm not entirely sure that I see the relationship between Isadora and QLC+: How does one use Isadora to control QLC+? Or am I missing the point?

                        Any help and/or suggestions welcome!

                        Thanks

I use QLC for running lighting as it is much more flexible that Izzy (which can do lighting via the enttec or other boxes ok). You can have complex fixture definitions including pecial definitions for some devices that use a single channel for multiple functions. It also lets you use things like colour picker palates for coloured lights as well as a great cue list and expandable scenes and fixture groups (basically you know your lighting states and in Izzy you have to program in a channel at a time. In QLC+ you can set a scene or group of fixures and when you go to a bigger venue add more lights in a few seconds and propagate them through all scenes and fixtures). It is a lighting design software and has less work to do than Izzy in setting it up and changing it on the go.

For example you can make all your scenes in QLC+ and then attach the intensity of each scene to an OSC command- or you can do this with a cue list or even individual chasers (chasers take ages to program in Izzy, especially for thing slike moving heads).
QLC+ is super light and talks to a lot of different interfaces so if you go into a theatre with ARTNet no problems just change the output page from DMX over USB to artnet. It also runs great on a raspberry pi, which means that you can have a dedicated light computer receiving OSC for about 50 bucks.
QLC+ can be controlled with midi or OSC so how you connect it depends on you and your show. You can definitely control all this from touchOSC, exactly how depends on your show. As a poke in the dark I would make scenes in QLC+ and then give each scene a midi control value for intensity, set the midi input as isadora virtual out and then send midi control from Isadora when you need to activate scenes in QLC. From here you can control the scenes from touchosc.

@mark_m i programmed a light board some time ago which is simply based on isadora with an usb enttec usb pro dongle. feel free to use it. i also included an osc version but

could be that it was only for ipad. for your needs there is no need for QLC/Qlc+. if you need any help just send me a pm

I have not used QLC before, but I have used @gapworks ' lighting board with my ENNTEC DMX PRO Mk2 for a small space, (24 dimmers) and was very satisfied.

Having done that, I can say that if I were going to attempt something more complex I would probably try out QLC+, as its enhanced capabilities for lighting would undoubtedly save a lot of programming time.

Just wanted to say another thank-you for the file: it worked like a dream with the ENTTEC USB Pro. No problem at all controlling via control panel or via OSC.  I used its basic structure and modified it for m needs. Have run one show very successfully now, and look forward to using it on many more.
                                  Thanks again for sharing that.
