      hi there

I have a canon legria hv40 that I have been using through firewire as a Live Capture for my projects for some years. I dont remember exactly how it was listed in the Live Capture devices...

The thing is that now I am trying to use it back with isadora (2.6.1) and its driver changed. No idea why, but now I see it as "legria hv40", and when I select it, izzy crashes.

I managed to unistall this driver and install one that is called "AV/C Tape Device". When I select it in Isadora, the software crashes.

I remember very well that neither of these drivers was the one I was using when everything was running correctly.

Help? Please? I need to have the system running for a show in few hours...

      i5 M520 @ 2.40GHz / 4Gb Ram / Win 7 - izzy 2.2.2
      i7 7700HQ @ 2.8GHz / 16Gb Ram / Win 10 - izzy 2.6.1 / GeForce GTX 1060
      AMD Ryzen 7 5800H / 16Gb Ram / Windows 11 / Radeon Graphics 3.20 GHz

Hi. Sorry that I can't really help with this. We do recommend windows 10 as a minimum requirement but I know this wont help you right now.

Something must have changed somewhere along the line.

                got it! found it!

There are some settings that changed in the camera itself. Apparently when attempting to use HDV it tries to work through "legria hv40" drivers, and this crashes isadora. I changed it back to DV and I can see it again as "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR", and this works in isadora
