I'm moving a discussion from another thread here because it got off-topic from the original thread.

@mark, not sure if this is a bug, so I did not make a report, but on the subject of the mapper when I make a simple quad the 4 way arrow icon (on the output page) scales the width and height simultaneosly. However when I make a grid this seems to work once on only, that is, the first time I drag the scale Icon the grid is resized keeping its apsect ratio, but the second time I go to resize it only does the direction I pull it in. I can undo and return once to normal behaivour, so maybe I am missing something about the way this should work.

Could you please make a quick gif? https://www.screentogif.com/

Seeing these things always helps me understand better. Definitely sounds fishy.

@woland Here you go, I see the same problem exists with the rotate control too:

I can't duplicate this behaviour, scaling works fine here in grid mode OSX 10.14.5

              Mac Mini M1 2020 / OSX 11.7
              MacBook Pro 2,3 Ghz Intel 8 core I9 / OSX 10.15.7
              MacBook Pro 2,2 Ghz Intel 8 core I7 / OSX 10.15.7

              and a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X ;)

Fred, what I don't understand in your video, the grid option is 1x1 ? How can it have that many segments then

@barneybroomer as you see in the video I just make a grid. I think it is just an overlay, I will check if it actually a grid once I get back to the studio.

                      Hey Fred,

Thanks to your 1 x 1 grid setting I found out what it was.

That is definitely a bug. It happens when you select grid, but leave the grid at 1 x 1. Once you enter a grid of let's say 10 x 10 it scales okay. I filed it in as a bug.

@barneybroomer I first saw it doing a fast walk through with students. I did not make any actual mapping, was just taking a tour and hence the 1*1 grid

Well, glad you did! Otherwise this bug was found much later ;)
