For this weeks' Guru Session, Isadora's creator Mark Coniglio will take a you on a deep dive into a feature so basic that it is easy to overlook: Scenes. We'll start with a few basic points like how to transition from one Scene to another and how to organize the cue numbers for your Scenes. Then we'll dig in to more complex topics like how to have more than one scene active at a time, how to use the Broadcaster and Listener actors to communicate between multiple active scenes, and Isadora 3's new "Blind Mode" which allows you to edit a scene even when it is not active.

So please join us at on Friday at 6pm CEST/5pm GMT/12pm EDT/9am PDT.

Download links for the live stream link, along session materials, will be posted in this thread at 5:50pm CEST on Friday.

Here's an example patch showing a couple very simple ways to navigate through Scenes by their Scene Numbers using a Control Panel and the Jump To Cue actor.

Here's my fairly comprehensive MIDI Show Control System for Isadora 2 using the Jump By Name plugin, which can be fairly easily updated to Isadora 3. Somewhere I have my files from the workshop I taught on this topic at the 2019 Isadora Werkstatt which I can upload too if there's interest. I use this to interface Isadora with theatrical lighting consoles and other software like QLab. To update from Isadora 2 to Isadora 3, you'll need to replace the Isadora 2 Jump By Name actor with the Isadora 3 Jump By Name actor that you can download from the Plugins Page.

Here's a similar system, but simpler, for using OSC with an ETC Nomad or other lighting console
