      Hi,

I'm trying to use multiple cameras as video inputs through generic USB capture devices.

Because my laptop has limited USB ports I'm using a hub through the USB-c port.

however, Isadora will only ever accept input from one of the capture cards on the hub at a time.

I'm getting the same problem through OBS as well, so it's most likely a hardware problem. Is there anything I cad do to resolve this? (apart from using a computer with more USB ports)

      Thanks

      I'm running Isadora 3 on Win10
Machine 1- AMD 1700x 8 core CPU, 32GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX580 GPU
Machine 2 -AMD 5900HX , 8 Core APU, 16GB Ram and an integrated GPU

It would be helpful to know what platform you are running.

In general we recommend adding this information to your forum signature, so that your current hardware configuration is always shown below your posts.

In this case it would help to know Mac/PC, operating system version, and perhaps more information on these generic devices?

I just ran a test and can confirm that you will likely not be able to run multiple identical capture devices in this manner.

Using 2 identical Microsoft usb webcams I get an error (lack of hardware resources) when I try to capture from the second camera.
This is with both plugged into a USB3 hub.

I have the same limitation if I use cameras of different brand/models.

Magewell usb hdmi capture devices advertise that you can have multiple devices connected - scroll down on this page https://www.magewell.com/tech-... they have a section about multiple devices on one computer

              Hi,

I can confirm 4 x USB camera inputs through a OWC thunderbolt 3 usb dock to Isadora Live Capture Settings.  I also looked at adding additional RGB through the OpenNi Tracker Beta plugin (because it also captures RGB from Kinect and Astra cameras). However, I could only get the depth camera source (the OpenNI Tracker plugin RGB camera source appeared disabled (black screen) while using the Live Capture Settings USB video input).

              Best Wishes
