      I followed the instructions https://support.troikatronix.c... to the teeth, and on opening the kinect-example-file.izz on mac mini m1

      "Missing Actors/Plugins": The following actor/plugins could not be loaded: OpenNI Tracker (ID='5F4F4E42') error.

      Has the openni plugin been tested on M1? Am I supposed to do some extra steps to load the openni plugin?

      Same steps on Intel Macbook Pro produce the working kinect patch

      Thanks!

        @eight

        Hi,

        The OpenNi Tracker plugin will only run in Rosetta emulation mode on the M1.

        From the 3.1 release notes:

        OpenNI is Intel-Only On macOS

        The OpenNI Tracker actor uses a third-party library that is compiled for Intel-based computers, and will never be upgraded to offer a native Apple silicon (ARM/M1) version. If you want to use the OpenNI Tracker actor on an Apple silicon-based Mac, you will need to enable Isadora to run Isadora in Rosetta (i.e., Intel emulation) mode.

        Best wishes

        Russell

          @bonemap is spot on. Sadly openNI and the libraries behind it dont work on M1 hardware.

          Rosetta for now works fine.

            @bonemap Thanks for your input. I confirm that when starting Isadora 3 with Rosetta, the error above is gone. I don't have a kinect connected to that machine, so can't test further.
