Stable Motion Tracking Workflows

Hi Izzy Community,
I'd like to make a recommendation to a museum about some motion tracking workflows for an exhibit they want to put up and I was wondering what the most stable workflow would be for motion tracking. Is it something with the cameras (Kinect v1 or v2, Realsense, Astra) that works better with the OpenNI Actor or is it safer to go with a regular camera using Eyes++?
Alternatively, if it's unavoidable is there a script where if Izzy crashes on my PC it automatically restarts so the exhibit pops up again upon start up?

Hi,
I recently set up an interactive exhibit in a gallery that operated for several months without having any call back or service requests. I used a regular webcam positioned over head and was able to mount a computer nearby on a cable track. I had a simple Isadora patch with video capture > difference actor > eyes++, to trigger content based on eyes++ grid coordinates.
The computer was headless with a dedicated wireless router to screen share to a laptop as a control interface when needed. The computer had Isadora as a startup application and the Isadora preferences were set to launch the patch and show the stage.
There was a regional power failure during the season, however the Isadora system started itself up again and the headless computer was accessible by Gallery staff through their own laptop to click through any pesky dialogue boxes that popped up during startup.
The computer remained on throughout and the Isadora system remained running but would go into a state with no content active - like a pseudo sleep state - the instruction for the gallery staff was only to turn on and off the projection machine each day.
I did originally look at setup up with OpenNi but I was not able to maintain a stable interface with the Kinect camera -so quickly switched to the webcam option.

@bonemap Thank you for the insight! This gives me a good reference point for how to build my project. I'm curious to know more about the headless set up: do you use a specific software to get into the headless PC? I'm not sure I understand how you use another laptop to see into the computer over your wireless network.

Software like TeamViewer or AnyDesk can do that :)
