Hi graphics card question, I need to get (4-8 outputs and video reference in) from one computer , does Isadora use this Black Magic Decklink quad 2 as a graphics card for processing? Or will it have to use the CPU to run the videos?

I'm thinking of using a PC tower with windows 10. A Mac would be nice but there's the external PCI frame box to work out.

I've used this very unit and it's awesome. The processing is still done on the GPU. I custom built a tower with Windows 10 - no troubles.

        Cheers,

Same here, I used a Decklink Quad 2 card in a theatre tour where we had 7 HDMI signals going out with in a Windows 10 Tower, with a 3080 GPU.

Isadora is using the BlackMagic SDK under the hood so that we can interface with this cards.

Please make sure that when you start the tower that you have a test scene / that you check your display order.

Yes. It does have a couple of quirks.

                Thanks, Thant's good news.

I'll also be using the Ref input also because it'll be part of a larger Controlroom system where reference/genlock is necessary.

@mark_m And you don't even need a PC tower. A Mac laptop works just the same. I just bought a couple of Sonnet Echo III (3 PCI slots) with a Blackmagic quad HDMI video card. It feels like heaven to have 4 HDMI live inputs at the same time. I have not yet received the video output card. But I am sure it is going to work. Although you need the minidin to whatever your inputs and outputs are. Ince there are 3 slots I prefer to have an input card and an output card because my cameras are Blackmagic 6K pro that are HDMI only and since I have 200 ft fiberoptics HDMI cable I didn't want to add the cost and the hassle of buying HDMI to SDI to mini din. (crossover nightmare).

SO, One card fhr the 4 HDMI input, One card for SDI output and Bum ! I have it all on a Mac laptop.
