Blackmagic Video Input no image
-
Hello,
I am trying to get a video input of a Blackmagic Deckling 8K Pro (on Win10). Settings are 3840x2160 25p.
I see the card in the input settings, but not getting any image. It stays black.
I checked in the MediaCapture Tool of Blackmagic and there the signal enters without issue.
Are there any limitations in Isadora?
Thank you, rené

This should work.
Make sure the settings in Isadora are the same as in the Blackmagic Media Express app.
maybe post a screenshot of the Isadora live capture settings?

Sorry if my comment is too stupid, but do you have BM Express running at the same time as Isadora? If so, it won't work.
Best regards,
Jean-François

That's a really good point! And I've been caught out with that before!!

Thanks. Not a stupid question, but I am aware of the issue. BM Express is closed. I only temporarly use it for a fast check to see if the connection works, because it's the easiest way to see the input.

Thanks for posting the pictures.
All your settings look right.
I just compared them with mine. I only have an UltraStudio Recorder 3G so can only test in HD 1080 but the settings look the same in the Isadora Live Capture Settings, so I'm afraid I don't have any good ideas.
I notice that someone else posted problems with their Decklink on Windows. @callie did you ever get this working?

I made a few more tests. I checked in other softwares, including Zoom. What I noticed: in MediaExpress the correct input is "Decklink 8k Pro #1" (no other choice). In Zoom and in another software "Decklink 8k Pro #1" doesn't work, but I get a signal on "Blackmagic WDM Capture #1".
In Isadora WDM is only available unter Driver Windows legacy and Modern, but both give an error message. -

That's expected, since Blackmagic should interface via the Blackmagic driver.
I have look over this, and the only thing I can see is that the device supplies 12bit video, while Isadora uses 8bit internally. I don't know how conversion is handled in this case. I will need to check into that. Is there any way of configuring the device to use 8bit?Unfortunately I don't have a pc tower, or decklink, so I can't dig in to testing this.

good question. The Decklink Setup App doesn't give that option, but I will check as soon as I am back in my Studio (unfortunatelly not before friday).
However, I did check earlier my signal I wanted to capture and that leaves the device with 8bit.
