Cheap hdsdi cameras
-
I just received a very cheap hdsdi camera. Item 190710243650 from eBay. This camera has limitations but is pretty amazing for the price. Perfect for tracking even IR. Great for filming the colours are even pretty good. Reasonable range of manual settings and a range of lenses and pretty low latency. It even accepts rs485 control. I am going to try rig up an arduino to control it and add POE. it can also accept standard c mount motorized lenses and has the through control plug on the side. Even with an HDSDI capture board it is still cheaper than any HD SDI camera or most decent handy cams. Fred

@ sculpture The eBay store is the manufacturer. @ Michael When I click your link I get the camera I bought. It is not perfect but I took a risk and am pretty happy with it. Look for the model of the sensor to find out more.

I would love to know if anyone has this unit, and tested with Isadora for live-capture? -
Forgot about usb3 so far all their other stuff works fine. I have the thunderbolt version of this and it works a treat. The usb3 compatible laptop list is still pretty thin though. Not many boards have the bandwidth. It is not as straight forward as old USB yet. They have a compatibility list on the site check first if your model is in the list before you order and try one if you can and at HD as well. Some will only do SD. the bandwidth on full spec USB is just enough to do HD but not many boards or chips meet the spec.

I've heard (via the Resolume and VJForums) that the USB3 BM stuff is only working with Windows. Anything else for Mac is Thunderbolt.

Yes that is why compatability is such a pain.
