10 FRAMES PER SECOND??

There are a few more information we need, what codec are you using what resolution and what Isadora version.
It's not only that you have 2 "3d quad distort" actors, you are also using "video mixer", "zoomer", "alpha mask" and "spiral blur", the last is not connected to anything to output but wave generators a changing the scale and origin y.
But at the end it sure could only be your video codec. Have you mixed resolutions, does the fps match your fps settings in Isadora? If I play two ProRes 422 720p @25fps with your Izzy patch, my fps varies between 24.5 and 25fps.

Unfortunately i don't know much about the video files i have, i'm not the content guy...
uhm where could i hunt for some content to test with that i'll know what the frame rate is? -
You can find out what the video media is with iMediaHUD

windows... :-| (not my choice)

Dear Ryan,
There are several things you need to consider to improve the speed of your patch.First, as Michel asked, what is the resolution of your video? You can find this out easily by opening the Media Window and letting the cursor "hover" over a clip. It will report the resolution. In addition, if you hover your cursor over a link that connects two 'video' inputs, then you will see the resolution in the video "tooltip" that appears. Please take the time to read these [very important tips regarding performance](http://troikatronix.com/optimizing-for-speed/), especially Tips 4, 5 + 6\. It is especially important that your "content guy" read Tip 6.You may also benefit from enabling the optional "Play Windows Movie Formats Natively" found in the General Tab of the preferences. This will cause all AVI/WMV movies to be played using the native Windows system for doing so.Second, take a look at your Video Mixer actors. First, since one of the inputs is disconnected you'll, essentially, be fading to black. In this case, use the Video Fader actor instead -- it is much more efficient.Third, since the Spiral Blur is not connected, it is probably having little effect on performance. But you can rely on this: any blurring actor is costly in terms of CPU performance -- the impact is exponential depending on the resolution of the video. Use effects like this sparingly. So please take these suggestions into account, make some changes to your media and your patch, and let us know if the situation improves.Best Wishes,Mark -
had a similar problem.
Brand new installation 9fps.
http://troikatronix.com/community/#/discussion/638/problem-with-multiple-projectors-and-scenes-drastic-drop-of-framerate-with-each-new-display.
Didn't find the reason why, but changing boot isadora with main display through every card outputs made it (had to install HD3000 on board chipset graphic, then deactivate on bios also).
50 fps then (6 outputs).
On my ati card, the frequency of card stayed at low consumption mode, without detecting acceleration demand.

Dear Benoit,
I'm a little lost on your explanation -- and I looked back at the post you mention and couldn't exactly understand either. So, for the benefit of everyone, maybe you can break it down a bit.1) "but changing boot isadora with main display" -- what do you mean by this? Did you turn on the feature that has Isadora automatically show the stage when it starts up? Or?2) "through every card outputs" -- do you mean you had to show the stage on every video card that was installed? Or?3) "had to install HD3000 on board chipset graphic" -- do you mean you installed some drivers for the HD 3000? Or?4) "then deactivate on bios also" -- I don't really know at all what you mean by deactivate the bios... can you explain what you did? Thanks very much for the help.Best Wishes,Mark -
[EDIT: Mark edited this to make the questions and answers more clear.]Hello Mark,
Excuse me for my poor english. I didnt reread my message.
I have a PC, I5, 16go RAM, running on windows 7. 2 ATI HD6870 graphic cards. Isadorawin-13fc24.
Same problem on another PC with only one ATI HD 7750. Low performance also._Question 1) "but changing boot isadora with main display" -- what do you mean by this? Did you turn on the feature that has Isadora automatically show the stage when it starts up? Or?
_
The main display is the main screen were isadora User Interface shows up. If you plug only one screen on the graphic card, the desktop and boot menu of windows is shown on this screen. The graphic performance seems to depend on which graphic card the main display is plugged to._Question __2) "through every card outputs" -- do you mean you had to show the stage on every video card that was installed? Or?
_
The FPS results I give is not using physical output (full screen stages). Just previews screens on the main screen. The performance was not related with number of physical outputs, but with number of projector actors. With new windows 7 installation, I was not able to obtain good performance. My PC was Laggy. Not just isadora.
I plugged the main screen on many outputs on my graphic card, and booted isadora on these outputs (windows main screen), stage shown as preview. 3 outputs later, I was able to obtain good performance (9fps => 50fps after). I still don't understand what happened, but I used this method with several new windows 7 installations. I can reproduce this. When performance goes back, I can plug the main screen on the first output on my graphic card. 50 FPS. before, same output, 9 FPS.
Can't understand why.I think the graphic card doesn't detect its performances are requested, with 9 FPS, the graphic card stays in idle mode (low consumption).
_Question __3) "had to install HD3000 on board chipset graphic" -- do you mean you installed some drivers for the HD 3000? Or?
_
Yes, I had to activate HD3000 chipset graphic on the bios menu.
Then install the latest drivers (with windows update)
Then deactivate the graphic card on the bios._Question __4) "then deactivate on bios also" -- I don't really know at all what you mean by deactivate the bios... can you explain what you did?
_
See answer 3.I was not able to understand what happened. I'm not sure isadora is the problem, maybe windows? ATI drivers ? Quicktime ?
Thank you for investigating.Kind regards,
Benoit -
Dear All,
Regarding Benoit's comments above... has anyone else seen strange behavior like this?Best Wishes,Mark -
I did experience some major slow downs using a triplehead2go the other day. Just with each third playing optimized video. 1024-768. Nothing I could outline as a bug though.

Mehdi has reported the same problem with the TH2Go. It may be related to the issue we're discussing in this thread. I'll make sure to make the TH2Go part of my examination of this topic.
