I am still curious about this.

I am starting to miss not getting video into my laptop.
Although I can use a FW400>FW800 cable and then FW800 to thunderbolt I keep looking at the blackmagic mini recorder as having a HDMI feed and SDI would be very sexy! All the new cameras and video cameras have HDMI out now so it seems time to take the plunge.

          Hi Grahm,

no doubt. GO for the the Thunderbolt Intensity Shuttle. Don't do the usb3 not compatible with mac. You can have 30 fps full hd input into izzy. I had it

              You are welcome Grahm ;-)

You're so generous in helping everybody that it is impossible not trying to emulate.
By the way it comes with a lots of different codecs for ntsc, pal and sizes. The only one  that is recognized in Isadora is full hd 60i (don't ask me why). But it does an excellent job.... in RGB (in YUV image is BLUE!!!!) DOn't understand why either)
And by, maybe Mark knows, capturing in HD should be done in RGB or YUV?. Or this doesn't make sense in HDMI capture?
              Best

haha Thanks @Armando I try my best.

Many of the users here are doing much more exciting, difficult and/or amazing things with Isadora these days that it's starting to become difficult to keep up.
I only know what I know because I've been working with Isadora for a long long time and I am lucky enough to meet Mark once or twice a year who keeps me up to speed with the latest version of Isadora.
This is one of the reasons I want/need a capture device. There are a lot of questions about BM products and I could do with one so it's time I bought one :)

Well it's been over a year but now I really do need a capture device. I think I am going to go with the Thunderbolt Intensity Shuttle.

I hope to order it in a few weeks time. Anyone have any recent updates or issues with the device before I buy?
                  Thanks.

No issues. For me. Remember.... The thunderbolt one. Not the USB3!

Blackmagic have beta OSX USB3 drivers out. So far so good apparently- no reports for Isadora direct but standard functions seem to be good.

Ok That's new. It would be interesting to compare differences. So far I'm really fine with thunderbolt edition. Only problem I noticed is image is perfect in any input if I'm capturing in RGB mode. Under YUV i see the image bit it is strongly blue. No clue why. I wonder if RGB and YUV are still important in HDMI capture via thunderbolt....

Yes I am going for the thunderbolt one. I have the MBPretina now (and loving it) so have enough ports.

Bit annoyed that it doesn't come with a thunderbolt cable... thats anther £30 I need to spend - on a cable! lol
