I would also love to be able to specify different bins for the Player actors. Currently, you can create any number of Picture bins to arrange your media in, but, as far as i know, you can only access one of them with the Picture Player.

This is an interesting Idea, and something we will discuss. (being added to our FR database :)

As a note, what I do is save my files with Version numbers file_v#.mov for example, in my media folder, the file named file.mov is replaced by a copy of any new media I make. This allows me to update my file without relinking each file manually, while maintaining an archive of versions. Down-side of this approach is I need to have 2 copies of the latest version at any time. I do find renaming a copy much faster than using the relink UI interface though.

I find that best practice with this is to put the Set Global Values actor in a Background Scene if I only need to adjust the values via a Control Panel, then put the Get Global Values actors in my other Scenes. 

A big difference between Broadcaster/Listener and Set/Get Global Values is that a Get Global Values actor will push its values when you enter the Scene that contains it, but a Listener actor will only push data when the Listener and its corresponding Broadcaster are both in active Scenes and the value going into the Broadcaster is actively changing. Another difference is that Broadcaster/Listener actors can also transport video, which Set/Get Global Values cannot.

When in doubt about what an actor, or one of its inputs/outputs does, you can always right-click an actor and choose the top contextual menu option "Show Actor Help in Browser" to open a single page with all of the help text for the actor and its inputs and outputs.

Try running it in demo mode. We specifically made the demo mode warning time out after 30 seconds with installations in mind. 

The reason I’m suggesting demo mode is that you said it ran fine for two weeks and then started having problems. Licenses (depending on the type) will try to check in online every two weeks, so by going with demo mode we can eliminate that check as a possible cause of your issues. (To be clear, I don’t think it is the problem, but fewer variables is always better when it comes to isolating issues with no clear source.)

[Edit: Though I suppose if it’s not the source of the issue, you’ll have a 30-second dialog come up whenever Isadora has to be brought back up… hmmm…]

I the Leap Motion Controller2, which I know is compatible with the Leap Motion.izzy is not available. The Ultraleap 3Di is, is anyone using it with the Leap Motion.izzyplug? Can anyone confirm it is compatible?

Hi Alex,

I did something similar yesterday in Oulu Dance Hack, using a feedback loop through an Effect Mixer with a Video Delay. Super simple, but quite difficult to imagine the results.

The Video Fader controls how much of the image is fed back into the system. Zero gives you an infinite buffer, 3 or 4 gives a long fade out. 
Its particularly effective if you can control which bits of the image get fed into the system. I was using lighting in a dark space, but you can use something like Difference to split off part of the image and get it looping, then combine it back with the initial feed with an Alpha Mask or something similar.

Ah yes, that'll do it, H265 isn't a media format we officially support (which is not to say that it won't work on any system, it just means that, as you've discovered, it may not work on some systems and as such we don't recommend using it).

@woland That's what I am considering, I will make my patches in Isadora 3 and will run them on a rented version of Isadora 4 for the final installation.

If you want to have more than two videos, you'll need to switch to some other setup. Something like this: Download (same file, just added a third Scene)

 Python or Javascript, shouldn't have any problem with this.
Just restart a timer when a new value arrives, and have a pulsed trigger that has the time checked constantly, making updates as needed.

Does anyone have tips or sample contracts for situations where you’re re hired by a musician (as is often the case for me, but could be performance group or similar) to perform live visuals during their shows?

It’s mainly to clearly set things and split ahead of time and avoid issues later.

Yes, the NDI HX camera is great.

Also EpocCam works well. But I prefer the NDIHX.
