I want to start using the Stage NDI output. But at the end of the road I’ll have to go back to HDMI (for my beamers). So I need a NDI > HDMI decoder. But what about the different types of NDI. Is Isadora sending NDIfull or NDIhx? And do I have to take in account that it could be different versions of NDI (3 or 4).
(You probably notice that I try to keep up with the NDI happening, but still lack a lot of insight)
Thanks
Peter
For those making performances for Zoom...
Just noticed that the latest version of Zoom (5.2) now has a native NDI Video option when selecting camera sources. I have been using OBS Virtual camera as well as Mark's Syphon Virtual Webcam to output Isadora to Zoom. Now one process is removed. Selecting NDI from Stage Setup allows for direct NDI video access by Zoom. I am using Virtual NDI Input to select the correct NDI source (Isadora - Stage). Input from Zoom still does not appear to be NDI supported yet.
Re: [Community Effort: Get Zoom to Support Syphon / Spout](/topic/6657/community-effort-get-zoom-to-support-syphon-spout)
hello, we try to fade in a ndi feed from resolume and also from arkaos,
the feed is shown, in izzy with ndi watcher and projector on stage 1.
every thing is fine, but if we fade in any way in one of the mediaservers, it switch the ndi feed in or out at something around 0,7 % of fade in or out.
so we try to send a shader on stage 1, send it out with ndi from the stage setup and then receive it with ndi watcher ,
in this case we can do a little fade from 0 to 0,7 of with the intensity of the projector in izzy. in and out.
but it looks like a 5step resolutionblend or something like that.
also if we monitoring the blend(try) in a monitor in the control panel of izzy, with a linked control id,
we see a random flicker in the monitor all the time receiving a ndi stream.
aslo when we do no fading action.
so any possibilitys for us to show a fade in and out from a ndi source in isadora?
by the way, the other way works great, we can receive the ndi from isadora in all other applications with ndi in, without problems.
aslo ndi monitor, shows the fades which izzy do not show, at the same time as a fade.
thx

Hi all,
I have been loving all the support towards building remote performances and was avidly following the guru sessions. So I am building a remote performance and one of the things I would like to do is have an NDI audio feed control the scale of a 3d object. I know how to do this normally (with a sound level watcher or sound frequency watcher from a live input) BUT to be able to use an NDI source seems beyond me. Well, I can do it using NDI virtual input (I think) but I am looking to use all four channels of Live Audio (each controlling its own object) so that would be four separate NDI audio feeds.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I figure something else out?
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
I am using Isadora three times each week to stream video from a Sony A7rII via a BlackMagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder through Isadora and out to Blackboard Collaborate. This has become progressively more dysfunctional to the point where it is no longer reliable and I am searching for an alternative setup.
I can’t put my finger on the point in the chain Where the problem/issue resides.
Initially, there were issues with audio quality - I started by routing audio through the camera audio input and out via the hdmi feed to the mini recorder. My mic is a senheiser lapel transmitter/receiver system. After getting really bad audio using that method, I then brought in a mini mixer with USB audio interface a Beringer 802USB. This improved the sound quality but introduced out of sync audio in the stream through Blackboard. Anyway still better than bad audio.
The real problems began when I intermittently had a black video stream when activating the stream in Blackboard Collaborate. It was impossible to trouble shoot because the video set up preview in the Blackboard Collaborate interface showed the stream as functioning. But when I activated it for live viewing it appeared black!!!??? Wtf.
At that point I started searching for a stream setup that was more reliable. I tried switching to syphon instead of using NDI. But as I implemented each new test stream the issue became progressively worse to the point where Isadora 3.07 will not even launch without instantly crashing.
I guess there is a lot more I need to do to resolve the setup. Perhaps reinstalling the NDI and OBS utilities-I have tried deleting Isadora preferences and a fresh install a couple of times but still I have no joy in launching Isadora 3.07.
I am half way through a 14 week semester where I am delivering subjects in digital imaging and creative practice to students who are locked out of face to face teaching due COVID-19.
The sessions toggle between the video stream from the Sony A7rII and the screen cast of software (Adobe) and the live view of a second A7rII used for photography and digitisation demonstrations.
I am feeling a bit stuck as I need this system up and running by first thing Monday morning.
Any advice welcome
Best wishes
Russell
Hi! Weird problem with a simple practical solution, but thought I'd post here in case anyone had any insight...
I was streaming in video from a DSLR over an ATEM Mini HDMI switcher. With Video In Watcher / Projector, I can see the video stream on the stage nice and clear (windowed, through Forced Stage Output) - so far so good.
However, when I streamed this output over NDI to a second computer the screen was completely black. Fiddled around, couldn't see what was wrong, thought I'd have to go back to using a webcam... then realised that I could see the video as long as there was something behind it.
The quick fix was to put a solid black shape at the back of every scene with the DSLR video - suddenly I could see everything on the NDI stream, just like it was on the 'Stage 1' window. If I shrank the shape down, it had the effect of cropping the DSLR video.
So the problem was easily fixed practically, but I'm wondering what may have been the cause of this, and may it affect anything else which I should be on the look out for? Specifically, NDI-streamed video appearing differently to what's on the Stage window

Hi,
I am testing with NDI signal. In Isadora, I connect a player to a Virtual Stage (1920x1080) and select NDI output in the Stage Setup and route it to MadMapper. Here the NDI input is not displayed correctly, rather it appears with another ratio (1920x540). I have also tried in NDISyphon app and I get the same result. The difference is that in NDISyphon app if I check "Receive like RGB?" displayed correctly. I understand that this is a matter of the color space in which the NDI signal is transported but the problem is that, for example, in Madmapper I do not have the possibility of receiving the input as RGB.

Hi
I am trying to send NDI internally (localhost) from isadora 3.0.8b USB to Vectorworks Vision (previz software)
In my test setup I add a movie player and projector, switch NDI on in stage setup and in Vision I set a surface to recieve the signal from isadora.
The load in isadora instantly goes up to 95%. If I turn off the receiving end it drops back down. Am I doing something wrong or is there something inherent to NDI that I need to understand?
Cheers

I am not too savvy with a PC and I have three students who are trying to instal the NDI Watcher Plugin on PCs. They tell me they are offered two choices - QTR or Application File. I don't know which one they should chose to install and I don't even know why they have two options. Can anyone enlighten me so that I can enlighten them?
